Competition Rules

Each team will play the other three teams in regular season matches. A team receives 3 points for a win, one for a tie and 0 points for a loss. The winner of the competition will be the team that earned the most points in the three matches versus the other three teams. Only regular season matches count in the competition; pre-season matches and/or post-season matches will not be included in the Cup competition.

The tie-breaker method should any teams end up level on points after the three matches would be as follows:

1)Head-to-Head Competition between the tied teams

2)Goal differential

3)Goals Allowed versus three teams

4)Goals Scored versus three teams

Award

The winner of the Intown Cup will receive a permanent Cup-style trophy that will rotate each season to the winner of the competition. The trophy will have spaces available for name plates that will be engraved for each year's winner.

Future Considerations

1) In future years, this competition will be open to other Atlanta Public High Schools should they express an interest and commitment to participating in the Intown Cup.

2) Teams will consider scheduling matches in future seasons early in the soccer season (preferably February) so that the trophy can be awarded in a timely manner and will not interfere with Region play.
